Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.

Baptism for Infants

If you have been blessed with a child and want to have the child baptized at MQP, we have a dedicated team who will be delighted to help you with the process.

The first step is to donwloand, complete and send this Baptismal Form into the MQP Office.  That starts a chain of events.  A team member will review it and contact you. If necessary, the team member will arrange for you to attend an informative Baptism Class.

Classes are held at 10:00 am on the SECOND SATURDAY of each month.  If you attended a class within the past three years then it may be waived.

On completion or verification of the class, dates will be offered to you.   Normally, Baptisms take place at the 9;00 am and 11:00 am Masses on the FOURTH SUNDAY of the month.

At least one godparent should be a practicing Catholic who has received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

What a joy to have a child baptized and what a blessing for all of us.  We look forward to serving you and welcoming your new Christian into our community.
