Teen Confirmation

Confirmation is one of the three Sacraments of Christian Initiation, along with Baptism and Eucharist. Confirmation involves the "sealing" and strengthening of the Holy Spirit, whose gifts make us more like Christ.

In the Archdiocese of Seattle, those baptized in infancy can now be confirmed in as early as the 7th grade. MQP is beginning the roll down to 7th grade by first providing confirmation to teens in 9th-12 grade for the 2019-2020 school year, and opening  it to all 7th- 12th grade youth in the fall of 2020. Proximate preparation for Confirmation begins in the middle-school and early high-school years through participation in parish youth programs.  Enrollment and participation in Youth Ministry is required for at least one year prior to beginning Confirmation classes, unless the youth wants to instead participate regularly in another parish ministry or a liturgical ministry, or they are enrolled in a Catholic school.  Immediate preparation for Confirmation begins in the fall with the Rite of Confirmation celebrated in February. In addition to Confirmation classes and youth ministry activities, the preparation process includes retreats and service opportunities. For further information, email [email protected]  You may also visit for more information.
