Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion--also known as Eucharistic Ministers--serve the parish by assisting with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ at our parish celebrations of the Eucharist (the Mass). In doing so, they strive to foster a spirit of respect for the Mystery of the Eucharist, and to promote an awareness of our calling to be the body of Christ through our reception of this sacrament. By showing reverence for the Eucharist, and for those who share in it, Eucharistic Ministers help their brothers and sisters in Christ to encounter the presence of the Lord in the celebration of the Liturgy. Eucharistic Ministers participate in annual opportunities for training and spiritual formation, and serve each weekend of every third or fourth month at the Mass of their choosing. Reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is a necessary prerequisite for all Eucharistic Ministers. For further information or to volunteer contact: James Dewar, 425.829.6178

Feed the Hungry is a Mary, Queen of Peace ministry that calls parish families to serve the local Issaquah community. There are three facets to this volunteer ministry:
Issaquah Meals Program: Come serve dinner to low income families and people in downtown Issaquah as part of the Meals Program. A rewarding ministry where parishioners come together two times each month to create and serve a dinner. Parishioners prepare a full or partial meal at home for around 25 people and then bring it to the Community Center attached to the Issaquah Fire Station where they serve the meal at 5:30 p.m. The patrons of the Meals Program are typically very low income people, a few families, people of compromised health and some of the homeless population of Issaquah. This is a great volunteering opportunity that many people and families appreciate. For further information contact: Julie Wymetalek, 425.313.5834

Monthly Food and Clothing Drive:
On the first full weekend of each month, Mary, Queen of Peace has a Food Drive to benefit the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank which serves around 800 needy families in our own Issaquah community. The weekend before the drive, a notice comes out in the bulletin announcing what items are requested, however, it isn't always food items that are requested! Often the requests are for personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies or diapers. The Food Bank keeps us apprised as to what they really need each month. Every donation of food or clothing is welcome, needed and appreciated. Each month, volunteers are needed to transport the food, other items and clothing from the church to the food bank. This is a great opportunity for a family to volunteer together.

fellowship, spiritual growth and a sense of belonging. We organize two major
events throughout the year, to include young families, teen, and adults. In the
past we have organized the parish summer picnics, Western Hoe Downs, Father
