RCIA for kids:  Would you like to help lead “Breaking Open the Word” with kids who want to become Catholic?  Commitment is just half an hour once a month! If you enjoy praying the Scriptures, laughing with kids and sharing your joyful faith, this easy and rewarding ministry is for you!  This entails reflecting upon the Liturgy of the Word that the children experience on a given weekend Mass. All materials and training provided. Team members are eligible for full tuition scholarships to the Archdiocesan Catechetical Certification Program! Contact Mimi for more details.

Criteria for First Eucharist preparation are:
v The child must be in second grade or older and be Baptized in the Catholic Faith.
v In addition to Children’s Liturgy of the Word, the child should have participated in at least one of the following programs:
      Home Study, Weekly RE or Catholic School, the school year before Eucharistic preparation begins. 
v The child should also be in a RE program the year he or she will prepare for the Sacrament.
v The child has prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
v Parents are asked to be active participants in preparing their children by informing themselves through parent classes, then working with the child at home.
v The child should exhibit a desire and readiness to be prepared for First Eucharist. 

Preparation takes place in the spring.  Parents will be notified by mail.  Registration for Sacramental preparation is mailed out in advance of the beginning of classes.  If you have misplaced your registration form you can download one here. Robb Drake will be the photographer for First Communion. Order form. First Communion celebrations are May 15-16th.
