Religious Education/Formation is a continuous and lifelong process of growth. Begun in childhood, our programs provide a good foundation for future growth in understanding and living the message of Christ.
In response to parents’ wishes to experience Religious Education/Formation in many different family situations, we have designed several structures from which you may choose one or several options.

The Sunday preschool program is for 3 & 4 year olds, held on Sunday mornings during the 9:00 and 11:30 a.m. Masses, Oct – April. Children must be 3 or 4 years old by August 31 to be eligible. This program is entirely supported by volunteers. In the event that a volunteer teacher is not found, the class will not be held. Preschool Roundup is October 4th and all Sunday classes will begin October 10th. Wednesday classes begin October 6th.
Elementary classes meet weekly from October to May. Grades K-5 are on Sunday from 10:20-11:20 a.m. (or beginning 5 minutes after the end of the 9 a.m. Mass) and from 3:45-4:45 p.m. Also on Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m. Class size is limited and slots are assigned on a first–come, first–served basis, with special preference for children of catechists. This program is entirely supported by volunteers. In the event volunteers do not come forward to teach, the class will not be held
Enrollment is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis based on the date we receive the registration form. The registration deadline for all Religious Education classes is September 1st. All Wednesday Classes begin October 6th and Sunday Classes will begin October 10th.
Childrens Liturgy of the Word (CLW) celebrated on most Sundays from October through May at the 9:00, 11:30 a.m. and the 5:00 p.m. Masses (as volunteer teams allow), the CLW aims to make relevant to children the celebration of God's Word and to familiarize them with the full adult celebration of God's word in anticipation of the day they will fully join the adult assembly. Ministry teams rotate and lead worship on a monthly basis. See the volunteer form to help make liturgy engaging and relevant to our little ones! We need 4 teams per Mass to offer CLW every Sunday!
For children to participate, after the opening prayer, the priest invites the children to follow the bells to the chapel to attend their own special Liturgy of the Word. At the presentation of Gifts, the children rejoin their parents for the celebration of the Liturgy of the Eucharist. There is no fee or registration for CLW.
MQP Nites is a time for families, singles, seniors, and you! Two Sunday afternoons this year, the entire parish will be invited to take part in food, fun, and faith. These opportunities bring the community together for intergenerational activities as well as break-out groups for all age levels, nursery to adult! Look for events around Halloween and Advent.
Be a part of the fun! Anyone wishing to participate in helping with marketing, planning, providing hospitality, or facilitating breakout groups at these events should contact Mimi Arima. As these events develop, we are open to your ideas and energy.
Christian Initiation of Children (Grades 2-12) The children's Catechumenate is designed for children of Catechetical age (7+) who have not been Baptized or who have been Baptized in another Christian denomination and wish to enter the Catholic Church. It is a process that can be anywhere from one to two years in duration and culminates at the Easter Vigil Mass in full initiation with the celebration of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
The MQP Home Study program offers flexibility for busy family schedules. Families may join or cluster in homes with other families to share stories and learn about their faith. In order to accommodate busy schedules, families will coordinate their own meeting schedules. Families interested in clustering will be assisted with initial set up and have the opportunity to meet and choose materials. Please indicate your interest in clustering on the Faith Formation registration form. Those who take part in this program are asked to also take part in the parish-wide MQP Nites, which are held two times per year Prior to beginning, there will be an orientation session in October for parents/adults. Families will turn in Unit Review sheets as they progress through the curriculum.
